This past weekend we headed up to Lindy’s family’s houses to unload the ol’ cars. Instead of having them sit around and depreciate, might as well get rid of them. So, we’ve spent the last few days removing every single thing from Holiday, opening every single locker, detail cleaning every single surface in the interior of the boat, and vacuuming/cleaning all the interior cushions. We got that done and began to reload Holiday with organizing her to be our home in mind, as we decided where everything would go. Today we took our dinghy out for some fun and also to test run our recently serviced outboard. For cruisers, if your boat at anchor is your house, your dinghy serves as your car. Most anywhere you want to go (to town for site seeing, shopping, or a restaurant, etc or just cruising around checking out the water area around you for snorkeling, fishing, or spear fishing, etc), your dinghy is how you get there. After a couple of weeks of either boat work or tropical storms, we said, “enough is enough!” and had to get out on the water for some sailing. Our friend Denise who likes anything and everything that has to do with the water came to visit for the weekend, and we set out into Tampa Bay. Not too much going on this week as we’ve been in a holding pattern waiting for parts to come in for the propane conversion. The highlight by far was on Sunday when some friends had us over for dinner and to teach us how to set up our trolling rigs on the boat for fishing.
